View Article  Giant Parsnips, etc...

This was a present from J's parents allotment. Weighing in at a hefty 2kg(!!!!!) it made for a tasty roast and some good parsnip and apple soup!

These are JJ's rabbits, Joey (left) and Billy Bunter scoffing a fantastically large piece of kale.

Sadly Billy died this morning, rest in piece little furry rabbit...

Awww....it's all over. J's family left this morning and the house is all quiet again. Does it mean that Christmas is over?? Not till we're back at work! ;)

I got a good haul of presents this year, considering I'd told people that I didn't really want anything! I got the new 'Moro East' cookbook to go with the other two by Sam and Sam Clarke (it all looks very tasty!), Stitch and Bitch as I've said I'm going to learn to knit more than squares and rectangles in 2008! Lots of nice warm socks, A lovely hand knitted scarf, craft stuff, a scary beary (made by Joy! he's not that scary really!)....AND....a lovely new camera!

<tried inserting a pic but it's not liking it...will try again later...in the mean time imagine you are looking at a lovely digital SLR!> WOOT! It works now!!! :)

Here are all the pics of the presents I made for everyone. A few are missing as I forgot to take photos of the bee purse I made for Bees and the Knitting bag I made for Mother-in-law. Next year if I suggest doing something as stupid and stressful as making things for EVERYONE, please beat some sense into me with a big stick! :))))

...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas everyone. I've finished making all of the Christmas presents now and just need the big day to pass so that I can post lots of lovely photos of all the things I've made!

All we need to do now is the last bit of food shopping (in the morning), then tidy all my craft stuff away (it's an epic task in itself) and clean the entire house.....also do a HUGE pile of ironing (it's getting on for being as tall as I am!)....wish us luck!

See you on the other side...

Well, it's officially Christmas in our house now! We went to the Christmas tree farm after work and got ourselves this beauty...

...it didn't take me long to decorate it with our 'quirky' decorations. you can't quite see but we have knitted cats and birds, felt fish, glass robots and various other odds and ends as well as some 'ordinary' baubles and a few Intel Pentium men!!! I like it! And the tree is wonky too! It all adds character :)))

I made these for our department tree at school....Bunsen burner, conical flask, test tube and timer!

Cor-blimey guv! I've not been neglecting you, I've just been busy flapping around finishing my families presents in time to drop them off on my way home from York last weekend. Now I've just got J's family to finish off before Christmas. I've even managed to give the old sewing machine a clean and an oil (twice this year now! It must be Christmas! ;)

The decorations are slowly going up. We're planning a trip to the Christmas tree farm at the end of this week or middle of next - then the decs will be complete. Planning on planting the tree out in Jan down by the shed where the cherry used to be. In the mean time, all our stockings went up today. These were made a few years ago now, all the felt pieces lovingly hand-blanket stitched. J designed his own and wanted a rocket! Still not sure I like mine, and the cats could have been ironed ;)

HAHA! I spent a productive evening having a go at making little zip (and one big one) purses using this tutorial...They seem to have turned out just fine! (and 2 of them may be Christmas presents!)

Happy Monday! Only 14 more get-ups till the Christmas hols! YAY! Anyway. I've finally made some new cushion inners for the nice covers that Ann knitted me for my birthday. And don't they look lovely? I wish I could knit! Maybe that can be next years resolution...learn to knit something other than squares and rectangles! ;)

Also another picture of the 'shroom sculpture - this time looking a little damp but better colour. I think the back garden is definitely going to have a woodland theme to it now! And also that it's NE facing ;)
