View Article  Meet the Skellies

Hello again! Here they are (made from my Plush-o-rama book)...Mr and Mrs Skelly on the now empty Christmas tree - I thought I'd get it into one last photo before it gets taken out to the garden (where I'm sure if it survives being planted out it will appear in many photos!). Still not sure about Mrs Skelly, but them my nephew is only 5 so....!

Ah, just enjoying my last day at home before it's back to work tomorrow. I've been into town and returned a pair of trousers I bought last weekend from GAP. The lady asked me what the problem was with them, so I was honest and told her I didn't actually like them and the man on the next till laughed. I immediately went to John Lewis and spent my returned money on some knitting and sewing stuff. They had a sale section full of lots of lovely balls of wool so I bought some nice green country Rowan that was half price, a ball of yellow (full price!) to sew together the squares that I've finally completed for the baby blanket for Franny. Also got a piece of nice blue fleece, 9mm needles and a little more ribbon for Joy and Danny's wedding invitations.

Isn't this wool lovely. I think it might have to be a scarf....?!

Here are the finished squares (christmas tree in the background!) and the ball of yellow to stitch them together. JJ made the yellow ones for me and they are much better than mine! Although in my defence this is the first knitting I've done since I was about 8 years old. I will get better (hopefully!)

The cats are feeling better today. Almost normal, I think. They've had a bit of a bug or been eating something that has made the both sick. William was up most of Thursday night being sick. Poor thing looked so sad the next day when I wouldn't give him any food. Back to normal food today so fingers crossed we don't see it again...here is William in the garden yesterday looking like he's just woken up! (he had) Sausage doesn't like photographs, he usually hides behind a paw.

I'm going to make onion soup now (hence the soup in the title!) While its all simmering and what-not I'll be sewing together Mr and Mrs Skelly for Nephew 2's 5th birthday next weekend. I made a Mr Skelly for Dad for Christmas and both of the nephews love him! Will post pics later once they've been stuffed and I've tidied Christmas away :(
