Description
HELLO, AND WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

By day I'm a school science technician and new mum (currently on maternity leave!). In the evenings, once the munchkin is asleep, I love to sew, make and create all sorts of cute (mainly) felty goodness and then ramble about it here in my own little corner of the world.

I welcome custom work and orders, so if there is something you see and would like making for yourself just give me a shout! :)

I do put a lot of hard work into everything I make so please do not use any content from this website without contacting me first.

Hello everyone, just a quick update to let you know that I'm still around and not had the baby yet! She's due on Friday and I'm trying to take it easy and not do very much in preparation for the big day, hence nothing to show you! The craft room is nearly empty ready to be painted a nice bright colour for the nursery. We're as ready as we're ever going to be for her arrival so just have to wait and see....I'll keep you posted and may even have some crafting to show you by the end of the week if nothing else comes along(!).

We had a very busy weekend. Ikea delivered our new shelves and what-not 20 minutes before our allotted time slot even started, which was nice! I wasn't allowed to help much unless J needed something holding while he fixed bits together. My main job was to clear the big shelves in the dining room of the books and DVDs ready for the next phase of shelf building. Saturday we sorted out the shelves for the craft room and Sunday we put together the bookcases for the DVDs and books. I do have to say that the ones in the craft/utility room look impressive and also that I have far too much stuff (there is more waiting to be brought down from the old craft room!)

J found it quite amusing that I had a whole shelf that was just full of jiffy bags! (top right) All I have to do now is unpack the boxes of fabric and make them all look pretty and organised! I've still not finished striping the drawers that will also be going in here (to store buttons and ribbon and other small loveliness) as the weather here has been a bit dismal the last few days and the hospital think I should rest up more so I'm trying to take things easier.

While doing our little re-sort/organise of our book situation I managed to grab a whole shelf for my craft books. I didn't quite realise I had so many until you see them all together like that! 55 books! And that is after I gave all my card making books to charity! After filling the new book cases we realised we'd actually managed to FILL them all so had a quick sort through and managed to fill 2 charity bags full of books we wouldn't read again.

I'm hoping that once all this organising is finished this week then I'll manage to get a bit of sewing done before baby arrives(!). Saying that she'll probably decide to pop out before we've finished! We have built her crib, got the pram/buggy ready, moved the bed over so there is room for the crib. All baby clothes have been washed, ironed and sorted into different sizes. I think we are as ready as we are going to be (well, we still haven't made a start on the nursery yet!!!!). And today I'm just taking it easy while waiting around for the TV repair man.......

Look at me! My little blog has made it into the August issue of SEW magazine! How excited was I to see that it was there!!!! I did this a few months back and had almost forgotten about it - I blame the pregnancy brain as this week I also forgot to put a stamp on my Dad's birthday card before posting it! Here is a scan of my little bit so you can have a better read of my wafflings!

View Article  RED HOT!

Afternoon readers! Its certainly warm here in the UK this week, in-fact we're officially in a heat wave! Imagine that?! The last 2 summers have been so awful I think we've all forgotten what nice weather feels like! To celebrate the glorious sunshine today I bring you some RED items HOT off the....well....sofa(!). Today I've been finishing off a few red ornaments - the heat certainly prevents your Christmas crafting mojo from taking over - these have been on the go all week and I'm quite pleased with how they've turned out! All completely hand-cut and stitched.

I do like the new start buttons I've found from Kirsty and will definitely be using them in most of my christmassy things this year. We've also managed to pick the first of our strawberries too! Don't they look scrumdiddlyumtious? I think we might have to tuck into these after tea tonight! YUM!!!!

And finally....I decided I needed a treat at the end of last week and so bought myself this fabulous button bracelet from PoorRobin. Mel makes the most fantastical buttony jewelry, perfect for any button addicts (like myself) for a mobile button fix. I've been wearing it every day!

This weekend we are having several new shelves and bookcases delivered as we've officially ran out of book space and I needed shiny new storage for all my craft stuff in the new utility/craft room. Next week we will FINALLY be able to make a start on the nursery! HURRAH!
